Port Houston’s Role in Hydrogen and Decarbonization
Port Houston’s roles in expanding the Houston Ship Channel and driving economic development and prosperity in the region relate directly to the Hydrogen industry by encouraging energy exports, and helping accelerate and de-risk adoption of clean fuels and technologies for ocean carriers, intra-coastal marine transport, trucking and other modes and energy resilience. Port Houston ‘s sustainability action plan and decarbonization goals for the transport sector focus on an “AND” value proposition of promoting economically sustainable development “AND” environmental leadership, by working with myriad stakeholders across a variety of projects such as Hydrogen Hubs, Green Shipping Corridors, Maritime Decarbonization and local drayage projects. This presentation will elaborate on the overall Port ecosystem and describe recent steps Port Houston is taking towards enhancing hydrogen safety and infrastructure.
