David is the Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of Verne, a company headquartered in San Francisco. Verne has developed a high-density hydrogen technology platform that greatly reduces the cost of hydrogen storage distribution. Verne has financial support for leading entities like Amazon, Caterpillar, United Airlines, Collaborative Fund, and others. Before founding Verne, David was a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow at UC Berkeley, where he did his PhD in materials chemistry in Professor Jeff Long’s group. David did his undergraduate in Chemistry at Harvard. David has over 10 patent filings and over 10 research publications which have been cited over 450 times. David was an Independent’s Climate 100 2024 awardee, Forbes 30under30 2021 recipient, and a Breakthrough Energy Innovator Fellow 2021–2023.
