Andrew Temple has a diverse background spanning 20 years in the public policy arena and U.S. energy and manufacturing spaces. He currently serves as the Director of Government Affairs for Plug Power Inc, a global leader in comprehensive hydrogen solutions for the green hydrogen economy. In his daily role, he is responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of a multi-faceted strategic government affairs program encompassing all of Plug Power’s key assets and investments. Having worked across the public and private sectors and at both the federal and local levels of government over the last two decades, he brings a deep understanding of the intricacies and distinctive challenges associated with government relations efforts within the United States. His prior service includes leadership roles with SABIC (the U.S. chemical arm of Saudi Aramco), Air Liquide (a world-leading supplier of industrial gases and services for industry, health and the environment), as well as Baker Botts L.L.P. and local Texas government. With Plug Power, he is tasked with monitoring legislative and regulatory movements at the federal, state and local government levels and serves in a primary role for external outreach and advocacy efforts within the United States. Focused on U.S. and region-specific business priorities, he advocates to advance both the domestic and international interests of the company, aligning the U.S. strategy with broader global initiatives and efforts. He also works to protect the company and its wide-ranging operations from adverse legislation & regulation impacting core competitive drivers as well as future market opportunities. Through these efforts he consistently strives to raise the profile, reputation and favorability of the company amongst federal, state and local policy makers as well as external trade associations, coalitions and stakeholder groups. Originally from Houston, Texas, Andrew received his Masters Degree in Public Administration from The George Washington University in Washington, DC and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
