Pilot Energy Limited provides Feasibility Study contract to Chiyoda
)
A Feasibility Study for a Western Australia carbon supply chain has been awarded to Chiyoda Corporation (Chiyoda) by Pilot Energy Limited (Pilot), who will lead this joint study.
Chiyoda’s primary aim is to complete its mission of ‘Energy and Environment in Harmony’ whilst also promoting and encouraging the development of a sustainable society. They are looking to perform EPC services, in-house technological development, and complete other initiatives for a carbon neutral society.
The objective of this feasibility study is to create a carbon supply chain that will assist with capturing and storing an estimated 700,000 tonnes per year of CO2 greenhouse gas emissions, which are associated with the South32 Worsley Alumina Pty Ltd (South32) Worsley Alumina Operations. Once captured, the CO2 will be taken to Pilot’s planned storage site for the Cliff Head Carbon Storage Project.
Throughout this feasibility study, Chiyoda will manage the onshore facility scope, whilst the marine transportation scope will be overseen by Knutsen NYK Carbon Carriers AS (KNCC).
