Shunt Resistors
Knick shunt resistors provide accurate, long-term stable DC current measurement past 20 kA, with minimal heat loss and high overload capability. When paired with Knick’s high isolation transducers, they enable galvanically isolated, high voltage current monitoring in hydrogen electrolyzer and fuel cell applications.
Built using manganin metal, these shunts feature exceptionally low temperature coefficients and are available in standard 30 mV, 50 mV, and 60 mV variants, offering reduced power dissipation and compact designs for easier integration. Ideal for tight electrical enclosures or thermally sensitive systems, they support accuracy classes of 0.1, 0.2, and 0.5.
Knick transducers such as the P41000 are optimized for these shunts and deliver standard output signals like ±20 mA, ±10 V, or 4...20 mA. Together, the shunt and transducer combo achieves up to 3.6 kV of continuous isolation and 15 kV test voltages, ensuring safe signal transmission in high potential environments like HVDC hydrogen systems.
