A net-zero approach to CO2 emissions – CCU & PtX
Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is one of the cornerstones of decarbonization and its capture and storage (CCS) or utilization (CCU) are being explored by a plethora of technologies that aim to accelerate the rate of decarbonization as to enable the world at large to comply with the targets set by international agencies and agreements. This presentation explores the views from carbon capture and electrolysis to synthetic fuels (Power to X or PtX) and its use in the transportation sector at large (focused in Maritime and Aviation fuels such as Methanol, Ammonia and Kerosene), and the leading technological pathways and synergies in between those to enable the industry to tackle the big challenge of decarbonizing the transportation segment, especially when dealing with existing non-electrified and future nonelectrifiable assets.
