In many jurisdictions, green Hydrogen blending into Natural Gas pipelines is being evaluated or is in various stages of implementation to reduce the carbon intensity of end users. As existing natural gas infrastructure is well established, hydrogen blending is considered a step to carbon neutrality. The percentage of allowable hydrogen blending is in discussion with up to 20vol% being considered. This high-level discussion will cover various blending levels and discuss associated blending properties, material concerns, end user limitations, specifications, and safety concerns within North America.
